Vision

Growing passionate followers of Christ by teaching them to love God and love others in our community.

Mission

The Mission of The Orchard Church is to reach out to the unchurched in order to help them to connect with JesusŐ Church, worship and glorify God in our lives, and build a meaningful, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, in order that we may serve and bring honor to God.

Values

People – God loves and values all people.  Because of that, it is essential that we love and value the people of our community.  We will be accepting of people and help them on their spiritual journey in a relationship with Christ.  Our prayer is to see people through GodŐs eyes.

Worship – God has created us to worship Him, the only person or thing worthy of our worship.  We will exalt God, lifting Him up and finding strength in His presence.  It is our desire to attract the unchurched with the Love of God and a with a worship atmosphere that is attractive to God and our culture.  Worship is a lifestyle of following Jesus with all your life and bringing glory to God.  One of the greatest examples of a lifestyle of worship is by deliberately becoming selfless and others-focused and removing the idol of self from our lives.

Evangelism – We are commissioned to share Jesus with those who are not followers of Christ.  The community is seeking and starving for truth, and we hold the truth they are seeking. We will seek to represent the attractive love of God to our community, especially reaching out to those who have been marginalized by the American church.  Evangelism is simply sharing the hope of Christ that we have experienced and helping others see and desire that same relationship with God.

Service  - We will be good citizens and neighbors in the community.  It is our desire to show Christ to our community through GodŐs love and acts of kindness.  Small things done with the great love of God can change our community.  101 times in the New Testament, followers of Christ are charged with serving and loving those inside and outside the body of Christ.  We cannot call ourselves followers of Christ if we are unwilling to be servants.

Prayer – We will seek to be in GodŐs presence and in continual prayer for the direction of this Church, and the lost in Chico.
